9/22 Stroller Workout in Central Park with Moms of Steel

Discover how surprisingly complete a workout can be using nothing but your stroller, resistance bands and a little imagination!
Experience the magic of how some of the most lasting and rewarding friendships are forged while huffing and puffing side by side!
Class description: following a thorough warm up we head on to cover a very picturesque route (approx 1.5 miles) with dynamic and fun aerobic strolls (derived from various sports and dance moves).
Along the way we make stops and do strengthening exercises on the benches or walls (push ups, dips, core training exercises and a variety of leg, back,shoulder and arm strengtheners).
We finish with resistance bands and a dynamic stretch sequence.
We use other park landmarks for fun aerobic challenges, but let’s let those remain a surprise…

Little Maestros, named NYC’s premiere infant and toddler music program by the New York Times and NBC’s Today Show, is a music performance class where music and friends are made. Each class features 4 live musicians who sing and play guitar, piano and drums.
Little Maestros takes children on a fantastic musical journey each week. You and your child will love our musical story times, songs of all kinds, imaginative play, language development activities, puppet shows and “bubble music”.

Rock, Smocks, & Animals:
Join our animal adventure as we jump with the frogs and hop with the bunnies and learn about a new animal every week. We start out groovin’ to the guitar, bouncing with the balls and dancing with our friends as we sing along with all sorts of instruments. As we wait with anticipation to meet the star of the show, “The Animal of The Week,” we play and learn with toys that are like our four footed visitor and just before he comes, we settle down for a story. Next thing you know our special animal appears and we get to touch, enjoy, and hear all about him. Every other week, we pull out the paint, glue, feathers, sand and more as we and create an animal masterpiece of our own. This one of a kind class isn’t over until you meet all our friends in our indoor petting zoo.

Broadway Babies Sample Class (for babies 4 – 18 months)
Broadway sets the stage for this energetic, educational, and unique Mommy & Me class. In this interactive experience, children are introduced to a different Broadway show every week. As the four teachers begin to share what the show is about, children and moms are invited to participate. Lyrics are posted so that everyone can join in singing out show tunes. Props, costumes, and a multitude of musical instruments help develop the children’s imagination, as well as musical and rhythmic skills.
Guided by highly accredited teachers and pediatricians, our curriculum weaves educational activities such as pre-K development of motor skills, color and letter recognition, counting numbers and socialization, through the stories and songs of each musical. This class provides a venue where an adult can bond with their child while also meeting other adults who have young children. Come share the magic of Broadway with us!

Dunja Bergant Chiedozie has been doing personal training since 1995 and teaching classes for moms in Central Park since 2002. Her teaching is informed by her wide ranging background in dance, theater and mime, Laban Movement analysis, Feldenkrais and yoga, as well as by her experience as a mom. Moms of Steel aims to be a company that empowers, inspires, enriches and connects moms and their families.

In 1986, Poppyseed Pre-Nursery was established to meet the demands of parents yearning for more consistent social contact for themselves and their child. This very special, super-active class is filled with wonder and make-believe. Magical Story Time: Story time and make believe bring wonder and magic to this class. Puppet and dramatic play delight and engage children. Thematic and simple “beginners” art reflects the story and is taught in a fun, imaginative way. Music and Dance Party! Kids love MoonSoup’s energetic mix of music, groovy dancing, disco bubbles and more!

Moonsoup Baby Rock (for babies 2 – 12 months)
Baby Class gets a fresh twist with Motown, Rock and Reggae in this lively, up-tempo class; Babies love the Baby Drumming circles, Music, Play and Sensory Stimulation games. Disco bubbles round out this super fun music and play class. A fun, super active class filled with developmentally rich and age appropriate baby games to enhance physical, social and language development.
